RADA and AFDA trained Luntu Masiza joins the Finding Penrose production team.

Born in Pietermaritzburg, Luntu Masiza is a South African Actor and Producer, who moved to England at the age of ten, where he lived for 13 years before returning home in 2014.

Luntu has just completed his Master's degree at RADA (The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London), which is recognized as the world’s leading training institute for the Dramatic Arts, whilst also planning the release of a new film, (as both Producer and supporting role in), Blood is Black, directed by Dakalo Kwinda and Oarabile Ditsele, (Warehouse Production, 2024).

Although Finding Penrose features a beautiful friendship between a black man and a white woman, this story is not about colour. It's about the kindness people give to each other. It's about humanity. Finding Penrose is an incredible, inspiring story. It is the human spirit and humanity that really grabbed my attention. I’m so excited to be involved. It’s such a powerful story which needs to be told.

Luntu has recently been nominated for Best Breakthrough Performer at The Naledi Theatre Awards (South Africa), for The Island, dir. Dr John Kani (2022) and Best Actor alongside Francois Immelman for the Dikalos Award, 2022 (Festival International Du Film Pan African, Cannes).

Some of Luntu’s other accolades include Winner of the  Best Promising Student in the Western Cape (South Africa) for the Fleur Du Cap, the Setkani/Encounter Theatre Director’s Special Award (Czech Republic) and Best Male Performance on Stage Production and Best Male Performance in Television Production on completion of his studies at AFDA in 2017, (The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance).

Luntu is one of the co-producers alongside Alexandre Ortscheit and Alexis Burg on Some Mothers' Sons, a short film adapted by the well-known playwright Mike Van Graan, starring himself and Francois Immelman. The film has received critical acclaim across the international film circuit and has been nominated for Best Short Film at The SAFTAS (The South African Film and Television Awards).

Luntu Masiza is a dynamic and compelling actor and storyteller. He is uniquely able to draw from his own story with such skill, and convert that autobiography seemingly into anything he wants ~ Mike Van Graan (Playwright, Producer)

One of Luntu’s greatest passions is founding his company Changing Your Business Through Theatre, which focuses on facilitating workshops for businesses and organizations. His workshops aim to build staff confidence and develop interpersonal skills, through theatre and team-building techniques. He has worked with some of Africa’s biggest brands such as Engen, Pick and Pay, and has been invited as a keynote speaker for many independent businesses.
